About the Chicken Shed
The Chicken Shed was once exactly that -- a wooden shed which housed the chicks which supplied eggs to the lovely old farmer who sold us the farm back in 2000. The first thing we did was to give the chicken shed the "mother of all makeovers" to make a comfortable place for our family to hang-out while we took on the herculean (never ending!) task of doing up the old farmhouse.
Now we have moved into the house, the Chicken Shed is ready to let you come and share the country life we love so much.
It is a light, bright space with a large sitting-room/ kitchen, a double bedroom and another smaller room with bunkbeds. There's a bathroom with shower and all of it is has central heating which keeps things warm and toasty even in the coldest days of a Wye Valley winter.
Outside, the deck has a picnic table where you can sit for hours doing not much. And always there is the ever-changing beautiful landscape of the lower Wye.
The Chicken Shed forms part of a 20 acre small holding which includes woodland and wild-flower meadows.
